Our GTP School students had an inspiring visit from Matt Oechsli on November 8th, 2017. Matt Oechsli is a leading authority on financial advisor marketing and author of many successful books, including one called Mind Power for Students, which all our students received a copy of from Mr. Oechsli. Mr. Oechsli spoke to our students about the importance of setting specific goals and visualizing those goals so that they are attainable.

We are excited and very grateful that Dr. Bruce Brodie and Matt Oechsli could kick start our speaker series of inspirational and successful leaders in the Greensboro community.

Our GTP Academy students, along with some visiting players from out of town, participate in an in-house team competition each Wednesday at Spencer Love Tennis Center. Four of our coaches (Jimmy Roueche - black team, Kyle Gatti - pink team, Zach Passman - blue team, and Austin Ansari - purple team) lead each of the teams. This has become something that the kids look forward to each week. We love seeing the team spirit and excitement each week as matches begin.

The Greensboro Tennis Program was honored to have Dr. Bruce Brodie visit the school on Monday, October 23, 2017. Dr. Brodie spoke to the students about his career—from its beginnings in engineering to his leadership in cardiology and his continued learning as he authors a book. He spoke of his time from college through retirement, the challenges he faced along the way, his decision to change careers and the importance of enjoying the journey. He also spoke about the role tennis has played in his life as a player and as a parent of a top player. He also gave students a rundown on heart attacks, how to avoid them and how they are treated. The students enjoyed Dr. Brodie’s visit and his perspective on dedication and perseverance leading to success. GTP is extremely grateful to Dr. Brodie for sharing his time and his story.
